Hey,
Yesterday, i was charging my laptop when someone stepped on the cable and it ripped out. Now i can't charge it as usual and i have to hold it in at an angle in order to charge the laptop. What should i do to resolve this?
Thanks

You don't say what make of laptop but sounds like a damaged connector, but could be the one on the end of the cable or the socket on your laptop. Visual inspection may show which, look for bent or broken item.

If it's the cable you may be able to replace it, if the laptop socket then it's a specialist job, I'd say, as getting a laptop aprt and fixing components requires some care.If bent you may be able to straighten it with great care, but access likely to make this hard.

Ok, its a Patriot 6000, made by advent i think. I have some experience with building/ stripping pcs, think i could manage it?

Whether you can manage a repair has to be your call. It's your laptop.

I have a Tosh and just as a guide here is disassembly instructions.

Don't know if you'll find similar instructions for an Advent 6000. Try Google.

An option is to take it to PC World for them to view and price a fix.

Be careful if you try youself as the connector os connected direct to the motherboard. I have had the same problem with my HP laptop which was still under warranty and they had to replace the motherboard.

It is quite a common problem I have seen a few threads on this subject.
