laptop cannot access workgroup or use printer

Been trying to set up a home network using our existing wireless network. I have a pc wired to the router and connected to the printer. I also have a laptop connecting wirelessly to the network. I have run the network setup wizard on both machines, but cannot seem to be able to get the laptop to "see" the other computer. When I click on view workgroup (in my network places)to see what is happening, I am told that it is "HOME is not accessible- you do nothave permission to use this network resource" (HOME is my workgroup name )and "windows cannot find a network path"
I can't seem to find the printer either.

As far as I can see the main PC can access the laptop though.

I have tried removing PCguard from the main computer (was going to get za anyway as finding PCG highly irritating), but this has not helped. Am running Norton ISecurity on laptop.

Both computers are XP.

Any help much appreicated!

After reading an article suggested in helproom, I have checked they can ping themselves and each other by name and they can. I have checked that the guest account is open and without password.
Still no joy.

You will not be able to find the printer if you cannot find the PC.
Sounds like a Firewall problem. Is there a firewall in the router?
