Just bought a Laptop. Intend using it mainly connected to the Mains. Is it best to Leave the battery in situ or remove it?

If it is in situ it will remain charged and give you some protection in the event of power failure.

If you remove it it will probably deteriorate in storage anyway.

My thoughts were - Can the battery become overcharged if connected all the time?

"Can the battery become overcharged if connected all the time?"

No

It will last longer if you remove the battery from the laptop. Rechargeable cells don't like being charged when they are fully charged, they work better if they are fully discharged then recharged- in other words cycled. David

I'm not sure that I agree with you click here

The bit I read in Jackoms 'click here' indicated David4637 was right. (Scroll down to Para 5). Will go that way and take up cycling (battery that is). Thanks to all.
