LAN not working on Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD5

Can somebody help me. I have a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD5 motherboard 2 LAN connections. One of the LAN connections today has stopped working even though it is enabled in BIOS.

If I plug the net cable into the other port it works fine, but nothing from the other socket - Windows just says "network cable unplugged".

Any ideas?

Have tried re-installing Windows + all Realtek Network Drivers. Have also reflashed the BIOS and removed the battery.

Best regards, Mark.

Probably that LAN port chip has died - happened to me on an HP PC. I put a £5 LAN card in and it's been fine since.

Maybe it is the LAN socket that has broken and the contacts are not touching any more. Usually itis the locking flange that breaks and the cable is not retained correctly.
