windows xp home with sp2 installed. i keep getting the lan icon appear in the active part of my task bar so i right click select properties then customize and select always hide. this works ok for a while but it keeps coming back. is there a reason for this or is there an easy way to delete this from the taskbar select list as i will not be using my lan settings at all. any help appreciated.

You can either remove it in the BIOS or Device Manager.

If you go to your internet connections and right click your Lan connection and select disable it should stop it DG

D G's advice will solve the problem.

this happens with certain motherboard/lan types.
my A7N8X Deluxe had this problem too!

if you are not using the lan then disabling it is no problem
