labels in Word in Office XP

I am trying to produce labels from data in an Excel spreadsheet - just ordinary address labels. They are fine on the screen and in print preview, but when I print out a trial page if the top address is on the label the bottom row is about 3 lines up. What stupid am I doing?

Do you have the correct paper size selected? ie A$4 not Letter or whatever.

Have you selected the right label type? If you have selected a sheet with 14 labels and then put a sheet with 16 in your printer you'll get this sort of result. If you're using Avery labels check that the reference number matches.

Not sure what you are doing, but I use the free Avery software from click here . Use Avery Wizard to link to MS programs or the free version of Design Pro - this will link to an Excel database. I use it regularly for lists of names and for address labels. It's a brilliant program. If you are already using this, sorry - no other ideas.
