I have a Cherry keyboard standard version, but some of the key when pressed do not give what they say: i.e.
@ is obtained by pressing [shift] and [2]
\ ........................the 'hash' key
and a few more symbols are unobtainable like there is no POUND sign. I do not have the install disc and I have uninstalled the drivers and re-installed. any help please?

Check your language settings, it sounds like you are set to 'American' English.
start /settings /control panel/ regional & languages if you use Win XP

sorry wiz-king but that is as you state, it is set to united kingdom english already. Any other suggestions please? I have tried another keyboard, by the way, and that is the same.

Remember if it also says English Us version remove that.

Regional & language options.English Uk in both dropdown boxes. Then into Languages.Details,English Uk in the dropdown box and in the large box.In the large box if it also gives you English US Remove the US Version.
