keyboard not working

  JennyH 15:08 09 Jun 2004

The charity I work for has been donated some machines running Windows 95 and with 32 MB RAM. Both worked OK albeit slowly. I've now combined the memory from them into one machine and everything is OK except the keyboard doesn't work. Looked under system in control panel and it shows a standard 101/102 key / natural keyboard and says it is working OK. Any ideas?? I've tried both keyboards but nothing.

I believe in win95 a keyboard command to make it work is written into the autoexec file.

Can't remember exactly what it is but I sure someone on the forum will know.

If you change your keyboard or the hardware detection procedures for the Windows 95 setup didn't install the correct Driver, then you can manually identify the keyboard to Windows 95 and get the correct keyboard drivers installed.
Open Control panel
Double click Keyboard icon
Click the General tab
Click the change button
Choose a new keyboard driver from the list
