I thought I had solved this but I have not.
When I use certain keys on the upper case what come out is not what is supposed to ie when I press@ I get " I have changed all my settings to UK.
This is new computer Dell but not a new key board is that the problem?
Thanks

When you say "I have changed all my settings to UK", does that include the actual keyboard settings as well (in Control Panel)?

It should be set as English (British).

Go through Control Panel to "Regional and Language options" click on the languages tab, then click the details button. This opens the Text services and input languages window, make sure that the Default input language is set to 'English (United Kingdom)' and that English (United Kingdom) is listed in the 'Installed services' box, you may need to add it. Having done that unless you really want it remove 'English (United States) from the list.
