got this error message whilst working in Excel.
parameters:0x1C0083;0XE1857coc;0xE3851548,0xE333e360.
please keep explanation simple if at all possibe

Was it a one off or a regular problem? If you have office 2000 or higher, you can choose to repair it via the help menu. That may provide a solution.

was just a one off have used since posting seems to be okay, tried your tip but got"feature you are trying to useis on anetwork resource that is unavailable.

Presumably you are not working in a networked environment - i.e. an office? Is this a kosher version of Office?

The error message you got may be due to the fact that the CD was not inserted? Was it?
