Considering all the different types of antivirus programs, anti adware, firewalls etc that are available for free download it is easy to to have dozens of programs running in the background while surfing.
Is it possible to run a modern PC with Windows XP and SP2 on just a few programs such as one firewall, one antivirus and one ad stopper and still be secure?
What is the minimum requirements for really safe internet usage without having to run loads of security programs at the same time.

Thanks

Recommended Minimum Protection:- XP SP2 + latest updates and the following software.

Firewall ZoneAlarm click here

Antivirus Avast4.6 click here

Antispy Spywareblaster click here + a2 click here

Remember to keep these updated or your wasting you time and PC resources.

These are obviously my preferences and work well for me with no conflicts, other members will have differnt preferences.

I know DR WHO restarts this week but I've obviously borrowed his TARDIS and am answering questions before they are asked.

Will I have room on my computer for other programmes after I've put all the antispyware stuff on :)

This is one way to stop spyware if the hard drives full of protection programs then there's no room left for the viruses spam or malware. :0)
