Just a refresher on fdisk

  Confab 14:13 23 May 2003

Tonight when I get home I'll be reformating my hard drive.(what started off as a very small problem at 6 O'clock last night has now ended up with me having to re-format my hard drive after only just being able to salvage the last 6 months un-backed up data!!)

I'm ok with the format C bit but I remember that when I did this before I also typed fdisk/mbr or something like that anyway. Could you remind me what I did and why would I have done this.

Thanks in advance.

I have formatted often using format c: but I have never used fdisk/mbr I do not thing it is nessecary unless you have corrupt MBR click here

Legolas Thanks - I'll think I'll leave the MBR bit alone.

MartinT-B - I've printed the page and I just hope all goes well with the re-format.
