Just can't get rid of spyware

  plectrum 11:21 09 Apr 2004

I am getting very frustrated, my browser has been hikacked by something called "enjoysearch"
I have downloaded and run Spybot, CWShredder, Hijackthis, Spywareblaster, Adaware, and AVG, all software has the latest updates, i've tried running the software in safe as well as normal mode. Still everytime i restart the pc i find my browser homepage has reverted back to this so-called "enjoysearch". I have now spent around 5 hours trying to sort this out, i would greatly appreciate any help. I'm running XP Pro with IE 6.

Have you run CWSshredder in all Users profiles,

What version CWShredder are you using?, currently on 1.56.00.

Are you pressing FIX or Scan only ?

you could also try HTAstop from click here which will enable you to stop the .hta files running on startup, then deleting them.

Also see click here
CWS. Xxxvideo

Latest version of CWShredder can also be found click here if any problems downloading at the main site.

It might pay to empty your temp folder and temporary internet folder before running all of the above tools again.

One tool you didnt list is BHODemon free small download from click here , you can find a lot of browser helper objects with this and turn them off , getting rid of them can be done later .

Out of the blue I have suddenly been bombarded
by the following message when on the internet:
"Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX
controls and plug-ins to run?"

Can you advise me on how to get rid of this very
irritating nuisance?

You really need to start a new thread rather than tack on to someone elses , but in response , have a look at your browser settings , also any firewall , spy/ad programs you have running.
