Jerky Video/Graphics

I am having a problem with my Graphics
System :-Windows XP Pro with SP2
Graphics card :- GeForce 4 MX400 Latest Driver 63 build
Via Chipset QDI K7 M/B Universal Drivers installed
Direct X 9.0c
If I perform a clean install of Windows and run my Game animations all is well
The problem seems to start when I put in Power DVD to view my DVD's
Again I am using the latest XP Drivers and patches from CyberMedia
By Jerky I mean there is a definite jerk that seems to happen every 3 seconds
I have tried to tweak the system and can get it to all but vanish but the quality is not as good as the clean install above
The same happens when I go through the DxDiag tests ie bouncing white box and spinning cube yet they are reported as OK

Ensure you shut down as many unnecessary programs that may be running and see how that goes.

Ensure you have plenty of RAM available

I run 512 DDR Ram
My main gripe about this is that everything ran OK with ME no matter how many programs were running

XP is VERY resource hungry - much more so than previous versions of Windows

Thanks €dstowe
More Ram was on the cards I was going to double up sometime so I may as well buy some now
