Jerky movements when playing DVDs

I have just purchased a Gateway MX8554b laptop from Gateway. Performance was good but I do have a problem. I watched a movie on my laptop yesterday playing through Power DVD and the movie was very jerky.Pictures and sound audio was horrible where both were jerky.I have tried on many other movies and received the same result. Please help! Thanks!

I have just looked up the Tech Spec for that Laptop and I am at a loss as to why you are having this problem as it should be more than adequate to play movies, are you running anything else in the background.

I am still using the Gateway MX8554b. I do recommend you to buy one but I think I would not be able to find a review for you but this might help...
