Javascript links on web pages

Every time I click on a "Javascript: *****" link on a web page, I get no response. If I right click & select "Open in new Window", I get a, "The page can not be displayed" response. I've tried clicking & unclicking each "Java" box in Internet options but no difference. Has anyone any ideas?

What Anti-Virus/Firewall are you using?

Ensure you have ticked; "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled"

Thanks. I'm using McAfee for both but have tried with both disabled. The "JIT" option is ticked.

Script blocking?

I've finally solved this problem. It was all down to a small utility I installed from AT&T labs called "Privacy Bird" - click here.
After I deleted & re-booted, the problems had disappeared. Thanks for your suggestions.
