Java wont uninstall

How do i completely remove java from my pc so i can re-install it as it is not working properly?

Assuming it's the Sun version of Java go to Control Panel/Add & Remove Programs and scroll down to
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update (whatever number appears). If you are having trouble you may have an older version installed but the general name should be much as above to download the latest version of Sun Java go to click here

ive tried uninstalling it from the above but get 'fatal error' message every time with 'the installation was interrupted...'.

if i go to java in the control panel it says 'the system cannot find the path specified'. i know i defraged the pc recently having already had problems loading java.
