Last week file hippo update checker aadvised of Java runtime update which I downloaded. Today I was having difficulties connecting to my on-line bank so had a look at Trusteer Rapport which indicated a vunerability in my IE8 browser showing Java was in need of update. I checked again with both file hippo and cnet checker and no Java updates were shown. I then went on the Java site and ran the check to see what version of Java I had and it did indeed show I needed the 32bit version update. Think this is related to the old problem of having a Windows7 64bit system which needs to run the IE8 browser at 32bit in order to run Flash Player. Suprised that both file hippo and cnet tracker doesn't appear to pick up the browser version of Java running before recommending the correct upgrade.
