When trying to install Java on my XP PC the following message occurs.

Internal error 2755.1624
01-b06/windows-i586/jre1.6.0_01-iftw.msi

The help page at Java advised to run the offline installer but it came up with the same message. A pop up box also appeared saying that "the wizard was interrupted before J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 11 could be completely installed.

I've checked the advanced tab on internet options and no mention of Java or sun is listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the help but the artilcle is a bit advanced for me. the part that seems most likely to help:-

2755.1624: This usually occurs when running a transform with a setup. Make sure that the path to the transform is correct and the command-line arguments used to run the transform are valid.

is obviously aimed at the more experienced pc user.
Whats a Transform and how can I stop it arguing with the command-line!

hey just to let you know that I've just tried downloading an earlier version of Java and it works fine. Good enough for me anyway. So if anyone else is having the same trouble try this site for older versions of Java

I used the 1.5.0 version
