Janita - virus?

Re my problems in loading WinXP below, I'm wondering if the trouble was caused by a message I received about if I wanted to see Janita (?) without her slip go to http etc. Instead of deleting it, I pressed OK to clear it and all hell broke loose. I couldn't get into Internet Explorer if connected to the WEB and WinXP kept on closing down on a failure. I think that I got a similar message during my previous attempts to install WinXP and before I had got around to loading Norton. If I'm right, Janita (?) crippled Norton and prevented me from accessing the Norton help desk.

It is not a virus and can be stopped by disabling messenger. Control panel-administrative tools-service -scroll down to messenger and click on stop and disable.

Are you saying that Janita was not harmful? All I know is that things seemed OK until I got that message. Thanks for the advice on disabling messenger.

Look at the above; it's not harmful, merely annoying.
