itunes cd not playing on retail cd player

  cowgirl66 09:22 13 Aug 2007

I have just got some music files in iTunes and wanted to make them into a cd to play on a panasonic music centre. I used an empty CD-R like iTunes instructed me to, and set the Burn options to 'Audio', not mp3 etc. The problem is it recorded successfully and will play on my computer, but not on the cd player. I ran the iTunes diagnostics test and have copied it here if it is of any use. Where it says about updating because of crashing though, I have had no trouble in this quarter. It goes through the burning procedure as smooth as silk

Have you tried using Nero to do it?

  cowgirl66 09:40 13 Aug 2007

No, but now you mention it, would that work? Only I don't want to buy that and then find it fails too

Can you try another cd player or even a dvd player that would eliminate it being the disc at fault.
Madboy nero needs a plug in to burn them least mines does

  User-312386 09:47 13 Aug 2007

I use nero all the time, to convert mp3 back to cda and visa versa.

I also have itunes

  cowgirl66 09:50 13 Aug 2007

I have no other cd or dvd player so that's no good! Could it be that i'm burning a CD-R disc in a DVD-RW drive?

  User-312386 09:51 13 Aug 2007

I have Nero7 Premium and it does not need a plug in, also you need £

However, i think well spent money, as i can burn movies and do a multitude of things with it

  User-312386 09:51 13 Aug 2007

A Dvd-RW drive also has cd-r/cd-rw capabilities

Tell you what

Tell us word for word how you are trying to burn to CD with itunes and ill do exactly the same and see if mine burns correctly

It does seem wierd though that I can play the CD after I've burnt the songs on the computer but not on my CD player.
