iTunes 7 music 'stuttering' issue

  CurlyWhirly 23:22 09 Feb 2007

I've recenty bought an iPod Nano and in order to use the iPod with iTunes I had to upgrade to the latest version - v7 (I was using v6 before I think).

I've noticed that sometimes when I'm opening a webpage or carrying out some other computer activity, the music stutters for a few seconds.

Does anyone else get this happening to them?

p.s. I never had ANY problems with the previous version.

It isn't lack of memory either as I have 1.5 GB

I've sorted it

oops, I forgot to mention how I fixed the problem!

I don't know why it is but with the latest version of iTunes (currently v7), iTunes must need more processor time than the old version did so I've gone into Windows Task Manager and selected the iTunes process (iTunes.exe) and altered the processor priority from the default 'Normal' setting to 'Above Normal' and the problem has now gone away.
