Is it worthing getting a TFT with DVI input?

Hi there,

Just about to upgrade to a new computer and want to get a 17" or 19" TFT and read that not all of them come with a DVI input. Meaning that you have to send an analogue signal to a digital monitor which can result in poor image quality and ghosting etc.

I nottice that only the high end TFT screens tend to have DVI input and was wondering if people thought the jump in price is worth it.

(Obviously this assumes that I'll have a graphics card with a DVI output)

Cheers

I have used both inputs on my monitor, I have eyes like a cheetah on speed and I cannot tell the difference.

Hi, I have a TFT and graphics card with both, and have tried both connections, and have not noticed any real differences. I suppose a DVI is better as no conversion from analogue to digital has to take place. If you are an avid gamer then I would opt for one with both types of connection, also this gives a small margin of "future proofing" as well.

I can't tell the difference.

Thanks for your replies.. sounds like it'd be useful to have, but not essential for good performance.
