i know this sound really silly but when my computer freezes i have no option but to turn it of from the button, but then when i load it up it works fine. is this fine then?
Hi, this is normal procedure to re-start. But, it would be better to find out why it freezes in the first place.
Yes, although regular freezing needs to be sorted out. I think from other threads you have a Dell and Dell say the use of the on/off button is OK in such circumstances, you could lose data though.

It used to spell disaster with the old disk drives but with modern disk drives it's not a problem, but anskyber says you may lose data that hasn't been saved.
