Is it problematic to replace Vista with XP?

  pcbobby 14:12 04 Sep 2008

My daughter has located a new Jujitsu Amilo Li2727 dual core laptop.
It is pre-loaded with some unnecessary ‘trial’ software. Clearly, these items can be uninstalled and replaced with good free protection software and equally good word processing software like Open or Abi.

However, the OS is Vista Home Basic. Like many people she prefers XP Home.
Is it problematic to do a clean install of XP Home?

I am told that such action may invalidate the warranty, but she is prepared to take that chance, than be tormented with Vista!

She would be better off leaving Vista and getting use to it.

Main problem may be lack of drivers for XP on her new machine.

Its possible to wipe and then pay for a copy of XP BUT make sure you can find all the drivers first.

Fruit Bat. Thank you, good point!

PS. I will start a new thread re: Working Off line problem!
