Invasive Computers

I keep getting a window telling me that an other computer wants to connect.

I then click on "do not trust". I then go onto properties and click on "block this computer" but I still keep getting the message. Is there something embedded in my computer?

How can I stop this please?

Is this your firewall telling you this ?

Or is someone trying to connect to your router (if using a router) ?

Bit more info is needed.

You haven't left a pen drive or external card reader plugged in have you?

It shouldn't happen, but sometimes does that a peripheral plugged in at startup, will muck about until you realise why the PC is not behaving.

The window is a message from my security
PC CILLIN so I presume it is my firewall.
I am using a router.
thanks for responding

We really need to know the details of this other computer, does PC Cillian offer any other info,if so post those details here.

It could just be a piece of software trying to update.

IP address192.168.1.254
MAC Address00:120c:1e:22:6e
Status- unknown
No Computer name

Thats all of the information I have received.
The fact that it could be software trying to update sounds quite feasable. Maybe I'm getting paranoid.

I believe that to be your routers address, looks like you maybe having a loopback.

Is your internet and email stable ?

Check your routers configuration page and see if the mac address tallies with yours...this maybe listed against the computers name.

Just for future reference, please keep all replies to your thread (here).

I do appreciate the emails and appreciation thankyou, but the email envelope is for personal invites only.

Via email...............................

( Thanks for your help. It must have been what you said as since I set my firewall to default I haven't had the problem. Thanks ).

Just to add,you may have set the firewall to default but this will ask you a few permissions of allow/deny-block etc.

If your unsure of these requests, just asks here and we can see what we can do for you.

Hopefully you are sorted now, good luck.
