I need to create a web page that takes a users input and either saves it to a text file or emails the contents to a given address.

The only problem is, my HTML/Java script knowledge isn't that advanced. Is anyone able to provide any help?

What you want can't be done in pure HTML I don't think.

You will need to combine it with a script. If you are using something like Dreamweaver or Frontpage to create your webpage and form, the functionality you want is built in but if you want to build it by hand you will need a script to take the form input, and convert it to either a text file or e-mail it.

You need to find out if your web host supports PERL, PHP etc. or if it supports frontpage extensions (if you want to go that route) then if you need a script, take a look at hotscripts.com which has a lot of easily customisable stuff to do what you want (formmailer would be a good keyword)
