Im paying for 10mpbs.Currently im averaging 5-6mbps on my laptop. The problem is that, my other computers which are all connected to the same wireless router are getting the 10mbps.Why is my laptop not getting the same speed as the others??Thanks
Is your laptop further away from the router than the others?Which speed tester are you using to be able to quote these figures?Oh, by the way, you're probably paying for 'up to' 10 mbps which doesn't guarantee that you'll actually get that speed.
Wow, I don't know what you are complaining about - many users here would love to be getting 5-6mbps, including myself! Many of us only average around 2mbps or below!!
yes sorry, i know its 'up to 10mbps'.But to be fair, the area i live in isnt to bad with internet speed etc, and on my other computers, i am always averaging over 9mpbs, which leaves me to question my laptop which is getting around 5.And i im closer to the router.Ive also tried the speed when the laptop is connected to the router using an ethernet cable.Do you think is anything to do with the laptop itself?Ive tried the speed test without the firewalls, but still no luck?and ive used these speed checkers..both are equally as good to be honest...click hereclick here
It is clearly a problem with the laptop. What wireless card has the laptop got?
ive got a netgear wg511 54mbps wireless card.
Take a look at this click here
How are the other computers connected? Wired, is generally faster than Wireless!
Just tried that. Doesnt work. Thanks anyway.
They are all wireless.Ive tried wired with my laptop, and still no luck.As explained above already :\
