Internet Shutdown

Hi, I am using EZ Firewall (The same company as Zone alarm I think) and it has a "Stop all Internet activity" option. I was wondering if I did that when I am not using the net, if it will totally protect me, is it basicly the same as disabling it? I'm just a little paranoid as I got hacked. I formatted my PC, 5 days later I got hacked. It was my fault, I hadn't finished securing it. :@

Call me paranoid if you like but when I recently got a new PC I physically disconnected it from my modem before installing my A/V etc.

Stop all Internet activity causes the Firewall to close ALL connections / ports to the Internet, this is also in ZA.

To be used if you find yourself under attack.

It does not disable the firewall.

If you press the red button. Nothing goes in or out, until you restart it
