I have a laptop with wireless internet access on it and i want to know whether i can share the connection and give it to my desktop pc with a crossover cable?
Thank you.

Why not simply fit a wireless card to the desktop system, and have independant wi-fi access from it too?

hi DieSse,
It is an internal wireless card so i cant get it out.thats why i want to use the other way round and i want to know if it will work?be because i want both of the machines to access the net at the same time so am thinking of creating a workgroup i can connect them with a crossover cable.thanks.....Please let me know if it will work.

You're looking at this the wrong way IMO.

Your laptop has wireless

Give your desktop wireless too.

Then both can independently use the wireless router that I presume you have.

If it's not like this - you better explain how it is like please.

hi DieSse,
I just want to know if my way will work?i mean the laptop yes has wireless.i want to connect it to my destktop with a cross over cable.
1.go to the properties of the wireless card and enable sharing on it.
2.connect the desktop to the laptop as workgroup so it can access tyhe internet thru the laptop.
I hope you now get it well?is it going to work that way?
