internet on old nec direction desktop.

we need another pc in our house with 2 boys now using them for school work . unfortunately we cant stretch to a new pc alongside our newish dell but have a fairly old ,2000 ish , i think nec direction desktop. it has a 20 gb hard drive, 128 mb of ram and it will ony say it has an amd processor , no indication of speed.it is running windows me. we have virgin cable broadband and i wish to try and get this nec pc on the internet. it does not have a network card . if anyone thinks its any use for the internet could they give me some advice on network cards to fit and any other info to help me

Should be fine for basic internet use, might be better off (security wise) trying a different browser to the old IE 5.5? though, maybe Firefox or Opera.
