internet memory problem

For some reason when surfing the web a lot more disc space is being used up in a short space of time than usual.why is this and can i do anything to stop this?
its getting to the point that i have to kepp deleteing the internet cache all the time.
this has only happend just recently.
My hard drive always seems to be reading something as well.
Any tips at all?

sorry what i meant was that because a lot of disk space is being used up as i'm browsing i have to delete the temporary internet files a lot more regular than i used to.

In IE, Tools/Internet Options, Settings button and adjust the slider to reduce the amount of disk space allocated to something less than 10 MB.
