Internet History and General File Erasers

I have been looking at alternative software downloads for internet history removal and general file erasers, but I am confused by the choices and concerned that the wrong one could not only fail to work, but might have bad side effects.

Can someone perhaps recommend a combined package that they know is reliable?

(Ideally, I would like a trial period before paying and the reassurance that promised support is really available. My operating system is Vista.)

I too use Crapcleaner and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I'm on XP though; not sure if it's Vista friendly

Ccleaner works fine with Vista. No issues at all.

Thanks for the advice.

I have had a look at the CCleaner site and will give it a try.
