Little point in "uninstalling" it as per SirMetal's link - as you will simply be rolling back to the previous version (IE7 or IE6) which you cannot remove - as tullie says it's part of the operating system.

Problem is I cant instal adobe reader because I it tells me that IE is open somewhere when it isn't. Suggestions?
