Internet explorer not working

Internet explorer on my daughter's laptop will not find any websites. Firefox runs fine on it. IE ok up to now and the only thing to seem to have changed is it says it has no "add-ons".
Everyone else in the house has no problems with the wifi or anything.
She is just home from college. Could the settings on their intranet have any effect?

Check proxy settings, make a note of any proxy address and port settings before changing anything.
Control Panel/Internet Options (or Internet Explorer menu/Tools/Internet Options), Connections tab, LAN Settings button). Untick "Use a proxy server" if it's ticked. Re-enable the settings if required for the college intranet.

First have you checked for any viruses etc

Pleas download and run a quick scan with MBAM

Download the free version

click here

If all clean then I would suggest temp turn off your firewall and see if that works

If that dont work open IE click on Tools>advanced and at the bottom reset

You will loose all your saved setting but hopefully it will work
