Internet Explorer - Error on page

  wildhouse 17:28 30 Dec 2006

For about the last week I have intermittently been getting the message Error on page with a yellow warning triangle, but there is no script error reported. I have tried resetting IE defaults only to find the problem still exists and now my home page won't remain. I am running IE7. Any clues (I want to buy a DVD on the HMV site and this is one that I am now unable to log into!)

Which home page are you getting instead?

Are you running any add ons like toolbars from Yahoo or similar?

not to my knowledge!

I have looked at your response - but I have no idea how to put something in a reg file.

Open Notepad and post in the code. File > Save and save it as FIX.REG somewhere convenient like the Desktop. Double click the saved file and click OK when prompted about merging to the registry.

Sorry - you have completely lost me.
Do you mean copy
"Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" into Notepad?

It depends on which of the registry fixes you want to try. If it is the first then paste the following into Notepad

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;Changes Main Web Page to blank
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Start Page"="click here"

Sorry that turned into a 'click here' - copy from the link I gave you earlier.
