Internet Explorer - address entry problems

  stockj 20:42 30 Apr 2004

With IE6 open (running on Windows XP)I can use search engines find the website I want, click on go and the site opens. also if I click on a favorite the website opens OK, however if I manually type the website address into the adress line the website will not open, all I get is a message on the bottom bar saying "done" and the main window remains blank. Aslo the default addess in the search line is file:///c:searchpage.html. It semes as is this has been attacked by a virus but whatever has happened I cannot put it right. Any ideas.

This seems to be the same problem as I have, seems complicated but will give it a go and see if I can fix it.
