My system uses Windows XP Home SP3 and I access the internet via IE8. Lately it seems to be very slow when searching and displaying sites.

Anybody have any suggestions why this might be and also how to fix it?

Do you need any further details?

Please respond in non-techno speak so that I may understand and act accordingly.

Thanks.

Same as you.Slower than normal for me .
I am with Virginmedia I know that they had problems at the start of the week.So not sure if it is their fault or not.

Virginmedia is also my ISP and yes everything went about a week ago.

It takes about 30 seconds for the computer to open the home page first thing.
Then just a bit slower than normal when browsing.
I have tried everything I can think of to speed it up a bit but nothing has worked so far.
It is just a bit of a nuisance you know it is not right but nothing you do will fix it.
Still getting the correct Download and upload speeds so it can't be that.
Now something that may help you a bit is IE7Pro add-on make sure ad-blocker is ticked and mini download manager is unticked if you try it.
It should help a bit.
