Using Windows XP Home Edition on a AMD 1800+ Memory is 256 and 40 gig Hard Drive with AOL Version 7 (which does work on the internet) I am unable to get any microsoft updates using internet explorer. Infact I am unable to use Internet Explorer for anything. When loading it states "unable to find server or DNS Error" then a white page appears stating "cannot find page" I have install windows XP three times in the last week, but still the same thing happens. I have install another ISP but the same thing happens.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem. I have never come across this before.

1. You don't need to keep reinstalling Windows, you can try a repair click here

2. Test your browser click here

3. Try another browser such as Opera click here or Mozilla click here

Get an IE6 CD and load it. When you get to the 'typical' or 'custom' screen choose CUSTOM. Ensure everything is ticked EXCEPT media player and languages. Continue and when the CD has finished loading turn off the PC (not a restart) and then reboot. Your DNS should be OK.
