I have two computers, and two identical broadband connection modems. Is it possible to connect both the computers to the internet so that both computers are on line at the same time?

Are the external modems?

Do either have an ethernet connection option?

only 1 can access the net at any time. The first on gets it.

They are external modems and there is no ethernet connection option.

Thank you howard63. A clear answer.

Why not get an ADSL router?

  AndySD 17:15 25 Mar 2006

Ok then 3 options.

Wired

1. Cheapest (but means one pc turned on at all times.) You can connect both computers together vis an ethernet crossover cable and use internet sharing.

2. Buy a broadband Moden / Router and wire the PC's to it.

Wireless

Buy a Wireless modem / Router and wireless cards for the PC's

click here# and try the Home Network Configurator to get some idea.
