Internet connection through wireless router dies

  edanius 15:19 24 Sep 2006

When I first connected to our wifi network, internet connection worked. Then it (Internet) stopped working, although I was connected to the wireless network.

Now I've found out that changing SSID for the network will make the Internet connection work again. But then it will stop working after a certain amount of time/traffic/something.

This problem only occurs with one of the computers that is connected to the network. Also, the problem only occurs with wireless connection - using a network cable will always give me Internet access.

Someone got a clue? I don't want to have to switch the SSID every other day.

It would help if I knew the make, model and revision of the router in question.

It's a Netgear MR314

System Name : FOO
Firmware Version: V3.26(CF.0) | 8/28/2001

Thanks for the interest

That is a very old model, so it has limited support. click here. Which firmware rev are you using?

I just upgraded firmware from 3.26 to 3.29 and I guess I'll see if that does it. I hadn't actually thought about it before, so thanks for directing my attention to it.
