internet connection problems

internet connection problems

hi i need some help here. IE is unable to connect to the internet at all.
this is the message i get.

it is unable to connect. i try and go through the troubleshooter but it fails and tells me to go to manufacturers site.

Firefox works perfect as does AVG update ok

Opera, Chrome and Y!Messenger dont work

I have tried switching off the firewall but still not working. i have tried disconnecting, rseting the hub all not working.

We are using a belkin USB adaptor and BT home hub.

Please help, really annoying, we cant download anything on firefox either.

flickr wont work, photobox is the only other thing i'm signed to woruld work, this that link might work now?

Maybe try this.

Try,Run.Type in cmd then press ok.Command prompt will open type in ipconfig /flushdns then press ok or apply.It should tell you dns cache has been flushed if so reboot and see if it makes any difference.

Na it doesnt help but this now shows up when you do the network diagnostics ...

nope its IE8
i try an keep it all as uptodate for my sister as possible.
every couple of weeks i'll do something on it.

i've ran virus checker (avg) also but nothing, spybot and ccleaner

can you run windows update?

is there any dormant, lapsed, expired security program still installed and still protecting the pc by locking it down, except for windows update?

windows update doesnt work either?
