Internet connection problems

  sure2crash 17:59 21 Nov 2009

Hi, I have messed up my internet connection.! . I am on a laptop on a wireless connection (netgear which has good connectivity). I am able to connect to the internet ok, but using the address bar in IE8 I get the message “IE cannot display the web page”. When I click refresh it then appears, although not always, and sometimes only part of the page appears! Same applies using the favourites link. I’ve cleared history files but no effect. Also, the connection seems quite a bit slower than before. Similarly when first opening outlook express a pop up window tells me there is a connection error and I am not connected, but when I click the send receive button it then checks and downloads messages but the problem also affects the desk top p.c.
Don’t know what to do next, any advice would be appreciated.

try turning the router off for a while then back on

you could try resetting ie8 by tools-internet options-advanced-reset

Hi thanks for replies.
I've tried both but no change in problem.

You need to go to Networking in my computer and remove the connection and make a new one. it sounds like it may be corrupt
