Internet connection

Hi,I,m new to this question is i have my main pc in a small room at home its wanadoo 2.2mbps broadband adsl.My wife had a laptop for xmas what i want to do is to keep her laptop up to date windows etc.can i just remove the internet connection from the main pc and plug it into the laptop to do neccesary updates? thakyou in advance.

If you load the Modem Driver disc into the laptop you can indeed do as you require.

I have a simple enquiry. I am trying to connect my desktop via dial-up to the internet using Windows XP. When the process gets as far as dialling the ISP the phone number appears and a message "Dialling", almost immediately followed by the message "Hanging up".
The phone line is ok and I suspect that I have not got the connections on the computer rear panel correct, although I have tried various permutations. Any suggestions
