internet box legal or not

I wonder if you could change the ISP you use to access the Internet from a set top box from the supplied one mine being supanet and charges as you use it,to my existing NTL account which is unlimited access for a tenner a month would this be legal?

Don't think there is any question of legality. But like I said, elsewhere, I only heard that it could be done by changing some hidden settings. Don't really know if it is possible.
