internet acces via a belkin mdem router

I have a belkin wireless modem router that works fine (my desktop and two other laptops access internet through it, the first by wire connection the others by wireless connection). A third laptop has now stopped accessing internet despite confirming access to the network - it will not work with wire connection or wireless although it has done so for a year. None of the settings has been changed - any ideas why this should be?

Thanks for any shafts of brilliance on this.

Are the third Laptop's network adapters ("Local Area Connection" & "Wireless Network Connection") getting their correct 192.168.2.x IP addresses from the router?

If so, it may be that the TCP/IP stack or Winsock has been damaged and needs to be repaired. Open a Command Prompt window ("Start > Run", type CMD and click OK).

To repair the TCP/IP stack, at the prompt, type...

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

...and press Enter

(note the spaces in the command line). The original prompt will reappear, exit the Command Prompt window and reboot the PC.

To reset Winsock entries, at the prompt, type...

netsh winsock reset catalog

...and press Enter

Exit the Command Prompt window and reboot the PC. (If running both repairs, reboot only after running the second command.)

See if that gets you going again.
