Internal WiFi bandwidth utilisation

Hi All,

I am trying to move a file from one computer to another within my LAN WiFi network.

I goes through an access point which is 11mb per second, between two pcs which is also 11mb per second standard.

The file is about 500mb and it takes an hour to computer, with both client WiFi cards showing very good receptions.

In inspection of the network (under alt-ctl-del, then networking), i have noticed that the bandwidth utilisation is only 10-15%.

why does this happen? and thus the 11mb quote is that rubbish? if not, is it possible for me to make full use of the bandwidth up to at least 80%?

many thanks.
