Internal HDD to External HDD

Is there a way by which I can use a once internal HDD as an external; perhaps via USB?

I am aware you can have HDD carry cases, but is there a device which enables a PC HDD to attach to a laptop externally?

Thanx in advance

Ah ye of little faith. Visit here click here and put USB 2.0 to IDE Adapter in the search engine.

it is usb2.0 to any previously internal hard drive\ cdrom\ dvd drive.

"·Use an internal CD-RW, DVD drive, HDD, outside your PC or Laptop
·USB connection to high speed IDE adapter
·Power supply provided to power any device selected
·Save money on expensive external drives
·USB 2.0 high speed (480 Mbit and full speed 12Mbit) support
·Supports various kinds of ATA/ATAPI based mass storage device port
·Supplied with USB 2.0 IDE adaptor, power cord, power supply, CD driver, user manual

The USB 2.0 to IDE adaptor implements a bridge between one USB port and one ATA or ATAPI based mass storage device port. Compliant with both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1"

£39.95 is a big drawback.

I wouldn't say £40 was 'too bad'

But thanx for your help :-)
