Seriously though. I use NTL Home Broadband on Windows ME and find that it disconnects just a bit too often. To reconnect, I found that unplugging the modem, and plugging it back in again will get you back online again soon enough. Not really a solution, though. Just sending you my condolences.
Maybe somebody will have a real solution, but I suspect you will have to contact NTL to sort it out if there is a serious problem.
