Intermittent connection

I am running Win XP with Virgin Media Broadband, every so often I loose the
internet connection.
Sometimes it goes of for 10 mins and comes back on again.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, it has been going on for over a
week now. I have phoned the status helpline and there are no faults.

Yes they are crap at the moment.Have had a lot of problems with them for the last 3-4 days.It always starts ok then by afternoon it gets slower and by nightfall it's hard to stay on the internet,I stay in northants and going with the service status,There are no repairs being carried out in this area.I have spoke to a few friends about it,And they are the same.Just in case you might be different ,Try Control Panel.Network connections.Right click local area connection,and press repair.See If that finds anything. Or try Control Panel.Administrative tools. Services, Scroll down to DNS Server,Make sure it is set to automatic.
